Het regeringsdistrict Lüneburg was van 1885 tot 2004 een regeringsdistrict van de landen Pruisen en Niedersachsen.
De geschiedenis van het regeringsdistrict Lüneburg gaat terug tot 1885, toen het voormalige koninkrijk Hannover, dat in 1866 Pruisisch werd, als nu Pruisische provincie Hannover in regeringsdistricten werd ingedeeld. Voorbeeld waren de reeds in andere Pruisische provincies in 1815/16 opgerichte regeringsdistricten. Het regeringsdistrict Lüneburg werd gevormd uit de sinds 1823 bestaande Landdrostei Lüneburg.
