Irun is een gemeente in de Spaanse provincie Gipuzkoa in de regio Baskenland met een oppervlakte van 43 km² tegen de grens met Frankrijk. In 2019 telde Irun 62 401 inwoners.Irun is de tweede stad van Gipuzkoa. Door de ligging nabij de Spaans-Franse grens aan de Bidasoa is Irun een belangrijk commercieel en logistiek centrum. De stad heeft in station Irun een uitgebreide spoorweginfrastructuur omdat hier van de Franse SNCF-normaalspoorrails wordt overgegaan op de RENFE-breedspoorrails.
