Het Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park omvat het vulkanisch gebied van Olot en heeft een 40-tal uitgedoofde vulkanen. Alhoewel de vulkanen uitgedoofd zijn is het gebied nog seismologisch zeer actief. In 1428 veroorzaakte een grote aardbeving een 20-tal doden in Barcelona dat hier op bijna 100km ligt.
