Het 1e arrondissement is een van de 20 arrondissementen van Parijs en heeft een oppervlakte van 1,826 km². Er wonen circa 17.000 mensen. Het arrondissement ligt op de rechteroever. Het westelijk deel van het Île de la Cité behoort tot dit arrondissement.
Zoals alle arrondissementen, is ook het 1e opgedeeld in vier kwartieren : Quartier Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, Quartier des Halles, Quartier du Palais-Royal en Quartier de la place Vendôme.
