Le parc municipal a été aménagé entre 1928 et 1929 selon un projet de Paul Hasaerts. Il était considéré, avec les bâtiments des Écoles Techniques Provinciales (PTS) et le quartier jardin environnant, comme le projet global nommé ‘Boomsche Beekbosschen Tuinwijk’.
Dans le jardin pictural, vous pouvez voir des sculptures des artistes flamands George Minne et Ernest Wijnants.
La partie nord-est du parc de Boom présente une structure paysagère-romantique avec des chemins bordés de différents feuillus (chêne, marronnier, saule pleureur et érable). La Bosbeek est l'artère vitale qui traverse le parc. La partie récréative du parc abrite notamment des terrains de sport, une aire de jeux et un bois de jeux.
