Herligheden Sint-Pauwels var en del af de direkte ejendomme af greverne af Flandern.
Fra 1551 til 1594 havde Sint-Pauwels et eget kollegium. Derefter blev det til begyndelsen af det 17. århundrede sammenlagt med Kemzeke og Stekene. Herefter forblev det forenet med Kemzeke indtil slutningen af det 18. århundrede. Det er værd at nævne Sankt Pauls Kirke med koret og tårnet fra 1494. To sidealtre fra det 17. århundrede, en kommunionsbænk og lambrisering er i Ludvig XIV-stil. Kirken besidder en malet korsvej af L. De Heere.
