Vi cykler langs den oprindelige seng af Lieve. Denne kanal er et paradis for rovfisk, især gedder, og som følge heraf også for heroner. Ikke tilfældigt bærer den nærliggende landsby Vinderhoute heronen i sit banner. Vi cykler ad den gamle vej, hvorpå transportbådene fyldt med varer blev trukket ind i landet af menneske eller hest indtil begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede.
