Ved flystyrtet i Bremerhaven den 26. december 2001 styrtede et Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander fra Bremerhaven Airline kort efter starten i Weser. Det var på vej fra lufthavnen i Bremerhaven til den tyske Nordseeinsel Wangerooge.
Britten-Norman begyndte kl. 10:12 at tage af fra runway 34. Flyet lettede, men fik ikke meget højde. Over Weser lavede flyet en venstrekurve, tabte højde og styrtede med venstre vinge først ned i floden. Syv passagerer og piloten omkom, en passager overlevede med svære kvæstelser.
