Hier wurde archäologisch nachgewiesen, dass es einst eine echte Goldmine gab: die sogenannte Trou des Massotais. Diese ehemalige Goldmine liegt nur wenige hundert Meter von der Kreuzung Baraque Fraiture an der E25 entfernt. Ende der 90er Jahre wurde der Teich leergepumpt und Forscher konnten in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Lüttich einen alten Stollen freilegen. Das Holzstützenwerk wurde untersucht und eine Kohlenstoff-14-Analyse lieferte ein Datum, das auf eine Abbauzeit von der keltischen Zeit (ca. 360 v. Chr.) bis in die späte gallo-römische Periode (ca. 400 n. Chr.) hinweist.
