Conjunto arquitectónico atribuido al arquitecto Guillaume Hersecap, formado por seis casas construidas en 1683 y restauradas después de 1916, como indican los cartelas de la fachada del nº 27.
El estricto ritmo de éste refuerza la homogeneidad del conjunto, a pesar de los diferentes anchos y las adaptaciones de los antepechos de los marcos de piedra de la planta baja. Arriba, los vanos clásicos del tipo Tournai se realzan con una cuerda de transporte. Techos de tejas o tejas que cuelgan sobre las consolas de madera con graciosos rizos que están especialmente presentes.
La 'rue du chateau' se llamaba antiguamente 'rue Castelaine' porque el primer castillo de Tournai se encontraba cerca, en una isla del Escalda.
