Description

Kreekruggen, Brugse Steenweg, Noord-ede: tot begin de 17e eeuw liep de Noord-Ede in de richting van Brugge vanaf de Palingpot (Klemskerke). Bij de inpoldering in de 17e eeuw werd voor de afwatering van de ‘Watering van Blankenberge’ deze natuurlijke waterloop verbonden met de ‘Creecke’ van Bredene. Die reikte vanuit zee tot aan de Blauwe Sluis en Plassendale en werd later “Sluisvliet” genoemd. Nadien werd de naam “Noord-Ede” gebruikt tot aan monding in de Oostendse havengeul.
