Bicycle ride of the Hell of Ashdown The Catford Cycling Club is promoting the HELL of ASHDOWN Challenge cyclosportive on the 1st of February 2009. You feel like climbing 4 hills and joining the 50km or 110 km version? Check out the routes and their website. The route is located near the aerodrome of Biggin Hill, which was mentioned in the Da Vinci Code: the airport is the scene of landing of Sir Leigh Teabing's private yet. This area was also the principal fighter base protecting London in the Battle of Britain during World War II. And its runway also appears on the back cover of Pink Floyd's album Ummagumma.
Walk in Bergues Citytrips and walks are getting popular, now the winter is knocking on the door. A tip is the small but very friendly town of Bergues near Calais. You might have heard about the French movie"Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis". This is the place where it all happens....
Route of the Festival de la Soupe This motor/car trip takes you to the Gorge dur Tarn and to Florac (France). Florac is famous for its 'Festival de la Soupe', in the beginning of November. As a visitor you are asked to join the jury to judge the soups! Have a look at the route and the story... |
