La capella va ser construïda l'any 1600 al lloc d'una ermita.
Segons la llegenda , es va construir sobre una font que alimentava la cisterna del castell. Aquesta cisterna encara existeix i és visible.
La capella està situada en un entorn excepcional , a la vora de l'antiga carretera de Lieja.
Contenia l'estàtua de la Mare de Déu dels Dolors i l'estàtua de Santa Margarida. Malauradament, aquestes imatges van ser robades el desembre de 1973.
Santa Margarida era invocada per dones embarassades "per a una feliç alliberació".
