Den evangeliske Johanneskirke ligger ved Lendkanalen i vestenden af delstatshovedstaden Klagenfurt am Wörthersee i delstaten Kärnten, en bønnehus som prædikepunkt findes i byen Ferlach. Stiftelsen af den selvstændige menighed skete i Klagenfurt i 1864. Området omfatter i dag området af delstatshovedstaden Klagenfurt am Wörthersee vest for Banegade, strækker sig mod syd til Loiblpass og mod vest til Maria Wörth. Antallet af medlemmer er i øjeblikket omkring 4370.
