L'église évangélique de Saint-Jean est située au canal de Lend, à l'ouest de la capitale provinciale Klagenfurt am Wörthersee dans le land de Carinthie. Une maison de prière en tant que lieu de prêche se trouve dans la ville de Ferlach. La fondation de la paroisse indépendante a eu lieu à Klagenfurt en 1864. Le territoire comprend aujourd'hui la zone de la capitale provinciale Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, à l'ouest de la Bahnhofstraße, s'étend au sud jusqu'au col de Loibl et à l'ouest jusqu'à Maria Wörth. Le nombre de membres s'élève actuellement à environ 4370.
