Stationsbygningen stammer fra 1840 og er den ældste stadig eksisterende stationsbygning i Belgien og på det europæiske fastland. Det var en velafbalanceret bygning med et højt centralt parti med spidse gavle og på hver side en etagebygning, alle tre med den samme rytme: vindue, dør, vindue, dør, vindue. På grund af de mange ombygninger fra slutningen af det 19. århundrede er al symmetri og udstråling fra bygningen dog gået tabt. Også indvendigt blev bygningen regelmæssigt tilpasset tidens behov, og der er lidt eller intet tilbage af den originale arkitektur.
