På Carlos Dierickx Plads stopper vi ved den 16. århundredes sandsten Kwintie, indarbejdet til højre i en rekonstruktion af en feodal firekantsret, en gammel form for retsbeslutning der fandt sted i det fri. I midten står St. Baafs' våbenskjold. St.-Martinus Asper var under beskyttelse af St. Baafs Abbedi i Gent. Carlos Dierickx, der næsten en halv hjemodder år var borgmester i Asper og Gavere efter fusionen, har sin statue på sin plads.
Den gamle romanske St.-Martinus kirketårn i Asper stammer fra det 12. århundrede.
