Kommunen Gödenstorf er en lille kommune på kanten af Lüneburger Heide. Kommunen består af landsbyerne Gödenstorf og Lübberstedt. I alt bor ca. 1000 indbyggere i kommunen, hvoraf ca. 1/3 bor i Lübberstedt og 2/3 bor i Gödenstorf.
Begge landsbyer er kendetegnet ved en landbrugspræget bystruktur.
