De gemeente Gödenstorf is een kleine gemeente aan de rand van de Lüneburger Heide. De gemeente bestaat uit de dorpen Gödenstorf en Lübberstedt. In totaal wonen er ongeveer 1000 inwoners in de gemeente, waarvan ongeveer 1/3 in Lübberstedt en 2/3 in Gödenstorf woont.
Beide dorpen kenmerken zich door hun landbouwgebied.
