La commune de Gödenstorf est une petite commune en bordure de la Lüneburger Heide. Elle se compose des localités de Gödenstorf et de Lübberstedt. En tout, environ 1000 habitants vivent dans la commune, dont environ 1/3 à Lübberstedt et 2/3 à Gödenstorf.
Les deux localités se caractérisent par une structure locale agricole.
