Den 24. april løftede Rådet i Fyrstedømmet en hær på 300 riddere med 100 lanser og omkring 1000 infanterister under kommando af Hug Roger III de Pallars Sobirà for at bekæmpe bønderne, og dronningen erklærede straks dens illegitimitet, mens deputaterne og Rådet forbød offentliggørelsen af den kongelige opfordring. De lokale myndigheder mente, at de to myndigheder var legitime, men ordre var modstridende, og de første angreb kom fra de remenciske tropper under ledelse af Francesc de Verntallat i Castellfollit de la Roca i 1462, mens oprørerne belejdede Força Vella i Girona, hvor Joana Enríquez og prins Ferdinand havde søgt tilflugt.
