I landsbyen Duris, en tidligere keramikerlandsby nær Magnac-Bourg, blev tagryggen fremstillet. De stammer fra det rige undergrund og skylder deres eksistens en leråre, som i øvrigt stadig udvindes af teglværker. Ærnerne ligner smukt udførte krus, der blev anbragt på de to forbindelsessteder på de fire tagflader for at beskytte tagstrukturen mod vejrpåvirkninger. Som et ydre tegn på rigdom holder de også onde ånder og magi væk.
