Den tidligere jordemoderskole blev markeret som et monument i 1999. Dens arkitekt var Jan Stuyt (1868-1934), som tegnede flere bygninger beliggende på en høj med Imstenrade-skoven i baggrunden. Denne lokation opfyldte det medicinske krav om frisk luft.
Den første sten blev lagt af dronning Wilhelmina den 25. september 1920. Arbejdet blev færdigt i 1922. Cirka ti år senere blev kapellet ved siden af skolen bygget. Designet af kapellet blev lavet af Jan Stuyt og hans søn Giacomo i 1934.
