Med anlæggelsen af naturområdet Bleiswijkse Fles på den nordvestlige side af Rotte mellem Lange Vaart og A12 er naturområdet omkring Rotte blevet lidt større. Bleiswijkse Fles er på sydsiden tilgængelig med cykel via en ny bro over Lange Vaart.
For at berige naturen i området af Recreationsudvalget Rottemeren svømmer der siden slutningen af april 2017, to skaldyrøer på 4×5 meter i Bleiswijkse Fles. Disse er specielt anlagt som redepladser for fiskehejrer. De bliver meget brugt af fuglene.
