Tilgrup er en i høj grad kanaliseret bæk, der fra nordøst til sydvest strømmer langs skovene Appelscha og Smilde og gennem Dieverveld til Vledder Aa. Delvis danner bækken grænsen mellem provinserne Friesland og Drenthe. En del af bækens opland tilhører naturparken Drents-Friese Wold. Bækken blev kanaliseret i midten af det 20. århundrede for sammen med Vledder Aa at sikre dræningen af området sydvest for Smilde.
