Den 23. september 1665 kom Christoph Bernard van Galen, prins-biskop af Münster, til Losser med en stor styrke. Landsbyen blev næsten fuldstændig ødelagt. Tropperne trak sig tilbage, men slog lejr her (41) og blev foran broen i mere end fem måneder. Og Losernaren måtte betale meget tributter hele denne tid.
