Am 23. September 1665 kam Christoph Bernard van Galen, Fürstbischof von Münster, mit einer großen Streitmacht nach Losser. Das Dorf wurde fast vollständig zerstört. Die Truppen zogen sich zurück, lagerten jedoch hier (41) und blieben mehr als fünf Monate vor der Brücke. Und die Losernaren mussten die ganze Zeit über viel Tribut zahlen.
