Alvaiázere er en portugisisk freguesia i kommunen Alvaiázere, med et areal på 32,32 km² og 1.818 indbyggere. Befolkningstæthed: 56,3 hab/km².
Alvaiázere, by og kommune, skylder sit navn til araberne. Faktisk, da de invaderede den iberiske halvø i år 711, tog de kontrol over området af det nuværende Alvaiázere, som de døbte Al-Bai-Zir eller Alva-Varze, ifølge forskellige meninger. Andre forbinder navnet på byen med termen Al-Baiaz, som betyder "falkeren", således at Alvaiázere oprindeligt ville have været "falkerens land".
