Description

Nevele war zur Zeit der Guldensporenschlacht bereits eine Stadt, was auf frühe Handelsaktivitäten hinweist. Der Herr von Nevele wohnte im Zentrum von Nevele in einem von Mauern umgebenen Schloss in der Nähe der Kirche.

Durch Kriegsgewalt im Jahr 1381 wurden das Schloss, die Kirche und die meisten Häuser von Nevele zerstört. Nach dieser Zerstörung wurde das Schloss nur teilweise in Form eines quadratischen Turms wieder aufgebaut, von dem jetzt noch ein Teil sichtbar ist (Cyriel Buyssestraat 6).
