Kolmont ist ein Weiler im feuchten Haspengouw, in der Provinz Limburg. Während des Ancien Régime war Kolmont eine eigenständige Gemeinde, die sicherlich seit dem 12. Jahrhundert zum Grafschaft Loon gehörte, das später im Fürstbistum Lüttich aufging. Danach wurde Kolmont mit Overrepen und Ridderherk zur Gemeinde Overrepen zusammengeschlossen. Im Jahr 1971 wurde diese Gemeinde ihrerseits mit Jesseren fusioniert und es entstand eine Fusionsgemeinde, die ebenfalls den Namen Kolmont erhielt. Im Jahr 1977 wurde diese Gemeinde erneut aufgeteilt, wobei Jesseren zur Fusionsgemeinde Borgloon und Overrepen (mit dem Weiler Kolmont) zur Fusionsgemeinde Tongeren ging.
