Kolmont is een gehucht in vochtig-Haspengouw, in de provincie Limburg. Tijdens het ancien régime was Kolmont een zelfstandige gemeente, zeker vanaf de 12e eeuw behorend tot het Graafschap Loon, dat later opging in het Prinsbisdom Luik. Daarna werd Kolmont met Overrepen en Ridderherk samengevoegd tot de gemeente Overrepen. In 1971 werd deze gemeente op zijn beurt samengevoegd met Jesseren en ontstond een fusiegemeente die eveneens de naam Kolmont kreeg. In 1977 werd deze gemeente opnieuw opgesplitst, waarbij Jesseren naar de fusiegemeente Borgloon, en Overrepen (met het gehucht Kolmont) naar de fusiegemeente Tongeren.
