Kolmont è un villaggio in umido-Haspengouw, nella provincia di Limburgo. Durante l'ancien régime, Kolmont era un comune autonomo, certamente a partire dal XII secolo appartenente alla Contea di Loon, che in seguito si unì al Principato di Liegi. Successivamente, Kolmont venne accorpato a Overrepen e Ridderherk per formare il comune di Overrepen. Nel 1971, questo comune venne a sua volta unito a Jesseren e nacque un comune fusione che prese anch'esso il nome di Kolmont. Nel 1977, questo comune venne nuovamente suddiviso, con Jesseren che passò al comune fusione di Borgloon, e Overrepen (con il villaggio di Kolmont) al comune fusione di Tongeren.
