Es sieht jetzt aus wie ein kleines Dorf im Grünen, aber der robuste Turm der reformierten Kirche verrät, dass dieser Ort andere Zeiten erlebt hat. Das ist auch so. Sint-Anna ter Muiden, älter als Sluis, war einst eine lebhafte Hafenstadt mit Stadtrechten. Der Kirchen-Turm aus dem 14. Jahrhundert diente einst auch als Leuchtturm. Man kann sich das heute kaum noch vorstellen. Die Verlandung des Zwin hat der Glanzzeit von Sint-Anna ter Muiden ein Ende gesetzt. Übrig geblieben ist der dreieckige Marktplatz mit malerischen Häuschen und einer Dorfpumpe aus dem Jahr 1789. Das Gesamtbild steht zu Recht auf der Denkmalliste.
