It now looks like a small village in the green, but the robust tower of the Reformed Church betrays that this town has known different times. That's true. Sint-Anna ter Muiden, older than Sluis, was once a lively port city with city rights. The 14th century church tower once also served as a lighthouse. It's hard to imagine now. The silting up of the Zwin has put an end to the glory days of Sint-Anna ter Muiden. The triangular market square with picturesque houses and a village pump from 1789 has remained. The whole is rightly listed as a monument.
