Das Museum ist beheimatet in einem ehemaligen Fischerhaus, das unterirdisch erweitert wurde. Es dringt kein Tageslicht hinein und das schafft die richtige Atmosphäre, in der die mysteriösen Werke von Delvaux, ohne Schaden zu nehmen, gezeigt werden können. Das Werk von Delvaux umfaßt Themen, wie nackte einsame Frauen, Bahnhöfe und Tempel bei Nacht oder sprechende Skelette. Dieser Surrealist verbrachte einen großen Teil seines Lebens in Koksijde.
