Die Backsteinkapelle wurde nach dem Vorbild des Heiligen Häuschens von Nazareth im Pilgerort Loreto erbaut. Die Einsiedlerwohnung ist nur teilweise aus Backstein, hauptsächlich jedoch im Fachwerkbau mit Lehmbefüllung. Außerdem gibt es ein Dienstgebäude. Darüber hinaus gibt es einen Calvarienberg aus dem 18. Jahrhundert aus Mergel.
Die Einsiedelei ist heute ein malerisches Ensemble, mitten in der Natur, durch das einige markierte Wanderwege führen. Sie ist auch weiterhin ein Pilgerort, an dem jeden Sonntag um 9:15 Uhr eine Messe gefeiert wird und wo man sonntagnachmittags (14:00 bis 18:30 Uhr) im Café „Die alte Gewohnheit“ einkehren kann.
