Die Dünenwälder von De Haan sind eines der grünen Juwelen an der Küste. Das Gebiet besteht aus drei Teilen und ist bis zu 152 Hektar groß. Sie finden dort sowohl offene Dünenlandschaften mit der typischen Fauna und Flora der Küste als auch weitläufige bewaldete Dünen. Besondere Bewohner der Dünenwälder von De Haan sind die geschützten roten Waldameisen, die mit bis zu 700.000 in einem Ameisenhaufen leben können!
