Das Sint-Leonardus-Institut war ursprünglich ein Sanatorium für erholungsbedürftige stillende Frauen. Später wurde daraus ein Pflegeheim.
Das neugotische Gebäude stammt aus dem Jahr 1902 und verfügt über insgesamt 46 Zimmer, von denen sechs als Dienstwohnungen dienten. Es gibt auch ein zu renovierendes Direktorenhaus und eine ehemalige Schule. Die Gesamtfläche umfasst 12.000 Quadratmeter, davon sind 3.550 Quadratmeter Wohnfläche.
Die Barmherzigen Schwestern Agnes, Yvonne und Lutgard werden im August 2020 einen Zeitraum von 120 Jahren abschließen, in dem sie sich der Erziehung und Pflege gewidmet haben.
2022 stand das Gebäude noch zum Verkauf.
