Dieses Wandbild erzählt die Geschichte der lokalen Nachbarschaft. David Duits hat eine gesamte Wand in dieser Gasse* damit verschönert.
Das lokale Café mit Bezug zur Brauerei Omer Vander Ghinste war damals der zentrale Punkt. Das nahegelegene Gebäude, das als Feuerwache diente, ist im Bild dieser Cité verarbeitet. Dieses große Gebäude mit Feuerwehrturm wurde von der Stadt Kortrijk renoviert und bietet heute Platz für die aktuelle Deelfabriek.
Die Geschichte reicht bis ins Jahr 1875 zurück, als ein ehemaliges Arbeiterviertel mit 10 Arbeiterhäusern unter dem Namen "Vuylstekens cité" von dem Auftraggeber Albert Vuylsteke errichtet wurde.
*Diese Gasse verbindet den Radweg, der entlang der Gleise verläuft, mit der Sint-Antoniusstraße.
