Von Anfang des Weges "Am Englischen Hügel" blicken Sie auf die Eisenbahnlinie von Elten nach Emmerich. Etwas weiter östlich wurde diese Eisenbahnlinie (da es wenig Platz gab) an den steilen Abhang der Geest in unmittelbarer Nähe des Grenzflusses "Die Wild" angelegt. Unten floss einst ein Hauptarm des Rheins, der große Teile der Geest unterspült hat.
"Am Englischen Hügel" führt Sie vom Rand der Geest auf 26 m über NN zum Gipfel "Hoch-Elten" auf 77 m über NN.
