Vanaf het begin van de weg "Am Englischen Hügel" kijkt u neer op de spoorlijn van Elten naar Emmerich. Iets verder naar het oosten is deze spoorlijn (omdat er weinig ruimte was) aangelegd tegen de steile helling van de stuwwal vlak langs het grensriviertje "Die Wild". Daar beneden stoomde ooit een hoofdtak van de Rijn die grote delen van de stuwwal weggespoeld heeft.
"Am Englischen Hügel" voert u van de rand van de stuwwal op 26 m boven NAP naar naar de top "Hoch-Elten" op 77 m boven NAP.
