Der Stausee von Tavascan, auf 1100 m Höhe, befindet sich im Valle de Cardós, in der Gemeinde Pallars Sobirá, an der Mündung der Flüsse Noguera de Lladorre und Tavascan. Hinter dem Stausee fließt der Fluss von Lladorre bis zum gleichnamigen Dorf weiter und wird weiter unten zum Fluss Noguera de Cardós, einem Nebenfluss der Noguera Pallaresa.
