Das 1987 gegründete Institut du monde arabe (Institut der arabischen Welt) fördert den kulturellen Austausch zwischen Frankreich und der arabischen Welt. Es bietet verschiedene Aktivitäten in einem wunderschönen, von Jean Nouvel entworfenen Gebäude in Paris an. Heute spielt das IMA eine entscheidende Rolle für ein besseres Verständnis der arabischen Welt und die Stärkung des französisch-arabischen Dialogs. Als Think Tank bringt es verschiedene Akteure zusammen, um den Austausch und die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den beiden Gemeinschaften zu fördern.
