Seit dem 10. Jahrhundert gab es in Urrugne eine Kultstätte, das Gebäude wurde Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts zerstört. Jahrhunderts zerstört. Um 1550 wurde die Kirche im Renaissancestil vollständig wieder aufgebaut. Sie wurde auch von der kulturellen Architektur in Guipuzcoa beeinflusst.
Der 45 m hohe Portalglockenturm ist an seiner Südfassade mit einer Sonnenuhr mit dem Motto "Vulnerant omnes, ultima necat", "Alle Stunden verletzen, die letzte tötet", verziert. Das Innere ist wegen seiner Größe und des mit Wandteppichen der Mönche von Belloc geschmückten Chors einen Besuch wert. Die Kirche ist seit 1925 im Verzeichnis der historischen Denkmäler eingetragen.
