A Urrugne esisteva un luogo di culto già nel X secolo, ma l'edificio fu distrutto all'inizio del XVI secolo. La chiesa fu completamente ricostruita intorno al 1550 in stile rinascimentale. È stato anche influenzato dall'architettura culturale di Guipuzcoa.
Il campanile a portico, alto 45 metri, è decorato sulla facciata meridionale da una meridiana con il motto "Vulnerant omnes, ultima necat", "Tutte le ore feriscono, l'ultima uccide". L'interno merita una visita per la sua imponenza e per il coro decorato con arazzi dei monaci di Belloc. Dal 1925 è stato classificato come monumento storico.
