Das unter dem Namen Chapelle Saint-Genest bekannte Gebäude war ursprünglich ein gotisches Herrenhaus, das im 12. An der Ecke der Rue d'Enfer und der Rue de la Jurue befand sich das Nachbarhaus, das in der Metzer Tradition als Asyl von Rabelais während seines Aufenthalts in Metz von 1542 bis 1547 bekannt ist. Heute sind davon nur noch eine Tür und ein Fenster übrig, die an der Mauer am Ende des kleinen Gartens wieder angebracht sind.
