Questo edificio, noto come Chapelle Saint-Genest, era in origine un palazzo gotico costruito nel XII secolo. All'angolo tra rue d'Enfer e rue de la Jurue si trovava la casa vicina, nota nella tradizione metzese come la casa di Rabelais durante il suo soggiorno a Metz dal 1542 al 1547. Oggi rimangono solo una porta e una finestra addossate al muro in fondo al piccolo giardino.
