Dit gebouw, bekend als de kapel van Saint-Genest, was oorspronkelijk een gotisch herenhuis uit de 12e eeuw. Op de hoek van de Rue d'Enfer en de Rue de la Jurue stond het buurhuis, in de Messijnse traditie bekend als het huis van Rabelais tijdens zijn verblijf in Metz van 1542 tot 1547. Alles wat er nu nog van over is, is een deur en een raam tegen de muur aan de voet van de kleine tuin.
