Die Kirche Sainte Barbe wurde 1938-1939 nach den Plänen des Architekten Claude Robbe gebaut und von Alphonse Fenaud, seinem Nachfolger, fertiggestellt; sie ist der Heiligen Barbara, der Beschützerin der Bergleute, geweiht.
Die Kirche ist eine reine Metallkonstruktion mit einer tragenden Stahlstruktur und Verkleidungen aus lackiertem Blech. Sie wurde als Prototyp für die Serienfertigung von Kirchen in den zu evangelisierenden Gebieten konzipiert. Ein Glasfenster, das die Heilige Barbara darstellt, wurde von den Ateliers Mauméjean in Paris nach einem Karton von Hélène Delaroche angefertigt. Wandmalereien von Nicolas Untersteller (Ehemann von Hélène Delaroche) stellen Episoden aus dem Leben der Heiligen dar.
