Wittring liegt 13 km von Sarreguemines entfernt und ist ein kleines Dorf, das sich am Fuße eines Hügels in einer Schleife der Saar entwickelt hat
Von der auf dem Hügel gelegenen Kapelle aus kann man das gesamte Dorf sowie die Saar und ihren Kanal bewundern.
Das Dorf hat die Besonderheit, dass es einen Hafen mit einem Hafenmeisteramt besitzt.
Der Hafen hat 12 Liegeplätze, die mit Wasser, Strom, einem Picknickplatz und einem Restaurant ausgestattet sind.
Außerdem gibt es einen Parkplatz für Reisebusse
